There is ever an on-going discussion as to the legitamacy of Global Warming. There is a video on the web called Global Warming Swindle. It is on “You Tube.” It’s about 75 minutes long and very interesting; however…
I can’t help wonder why Global Warming should be a choice between being a legitmate concern or swindle. Why do we have to choose sides? Why do we have to be in this continuing debate and determine exactly who’s right and who’s wrong?
We have more people than ever before existing on this planet together. We have more industry and we’ve lived so differently in the last one hundred years than ever before. Why not just consider it good stewardship to do whatever we can to take care of “Mother Earth”?
Even if the changes are “normal” as the experts in the above video express, we know that never before has man contributed so much of the CO2’s going out into the atmosphere as a result of progress in the last century. So whether it be the cause or not, what is the harm in simply doing what we can to help the planet. Let’s just be good stewards of this beautiful place we all call home, be responsible, and Live Green as much as possible.
Pliny the Elder, 28-79 AD, who devoted his life to writing about nature, made this notation:
“It is the Earth, like a kind mother, receives us at our birth, and sustains us when we are born…Earth, gentle and indulgent, ever subservient to the wants of man, spreads his walks with flowers, and his table with plenty, returns with interest every good committed to her care; and though she produces the poison, she still supplies the anti-dote; though constantly teased the more to furnish the luxuries of man than his necessities, yet, even to the last, she continues her kind indulgence, and when life is over, she piously hides his remains in her bosom.”
